Seminar on The Greek Capital Market Regulation

ASE is pleased to invite your entity to nominate a delegate to attend the seminar organised in cooperation with Athens Stock Exchange Training Centre, which will be held from November 27 to November 28. During this intensive programme there will be presentations and discussions about stock market legal framework and regulation. The seminar includes a full schedule of lecturers comprising primarily of legal advisors specialising in capital market regulatory issues, as well senior Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) officials.

The seminar and materials are presented in English. A preliminary program is outlined in the attached brochure. The objectives of the seminar are twofold: On one hand it aims at helping the traders wishing to qualify as registered securities representatives (in accordance with article 10 of Greek law 1806/88) to properly prepare for the exams held at the HCMC headquarters in November 29. On the other hand, it wishes to assist all those interested in the Greek Capital Market (EU-Non EU Broker-dealers, Compliance Departments, Analysts, Capital Market Consultants, Custodians e.t.c) to properly understand the particularities of the Hellenic Capital Market, refresh their knowledge or even illuminate potential unclarified issues. The seminar also affords ample time to discuss more specific areas with the seminar faculty.

Topics to be addressed include: Securities offerings, financial statement and disclosure requirements, securities trading, clearance and settlement systems.

We look forward to seeing your nominee in Athens in November.

PS. For those wishing to take the registered representatives exams we enclose the relevant notification, information package and application form to be sent to HCMC by the end of October 2001.
