13.2% increase in Turnover and 22.2% in EBITDA
Euromedica Group?s turnover increased significantly by 13.0% in the 9M 2009 compared to the 9M 2008 rising to euro 188.3 mil. from euro 166.3 mil. Group?s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) totaled euro 33.4 mil., up from euro 27.3 mil. for the 9M 2008 presenting a significant 22.2% increase.
The increase in the operating results of Euromedica Group is attributed, firstly to the improvement in the results of the pre-existing medical units of the Group during the 9M 2008 and, secondly, to the new medical units that were added to the Group portfolio from September 2008 to September 2009.
Εuromedica Group currently has the largest nationwide network of healthcare services in Greece, comprising 85 medical units (23 of which were added to the Group portfolio during 2008 and 7 during 2009). More specifically, the network comprises 18 hospitals, 57 medical centers, 9 rehabilitation and recovery centers and one cosmetic medicine center.
The pre-tax profits of the Group amounted to euro 8.8 mil. for the 9M 2009 and post-tax profits amounted to euro 6.2 mil.
At parent company level, turnover showed an increase of 6.9% compared to the 9M 2008, up from euro 117.0 mil. to euro 125.1 mil., whereas EBITDA amounted to euro 13.6 mil., presenting an increase of 4.2% compared to the 9M 2008.
The pre-tax results of the Group showed losses of euro 2.5 mil., which are attributed to losses amounting to euro 3.16 mil. from the sale of shares of IASO SA. The post-tax results showed losses of euro 899 thousand.
