MICHANIKI S.A. is declared preferred bidder for a new ? 23.2 million construction project

The company announces that it has submitted the best bid in another public tender of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) in the prefecture of Kozani, northern Greece, budgeted at a total of ? 23.2 million.

The project involves the construction of the new water supply pipe of the Steam Power Stations (SPS) of Kardia and Agios Dimitrios from the reservoir of the Hydroelectric Power Station in Polyfyto, Kozani.

The construction project of the water supply pipe in the two SPSs includes both civil engineer works and the installation of electro-mechanical equipments. This project is considered particularly important, because is significantly improves the operation of the two SPSs.

The SPSs of Kardia and Agios Dimitrios with production capacity of 1200 MW and 1587 MW respectively, will increase Greece's total capacity in sight of the high demand during the 2004 Olympic Games.

The time frame for the completion of the project is 22 months from the day of the signing of the contract.

At the beginning of August, MICHANIKI S.A. was also declared preferred bidder in another tender for the construction of roadways and of a Drainage Tunnel at the Hydroelectric Power Station (HPS) at Mesochora, central Greece, budgeted at ? 33.6 million.
