Hellenic Fabrics S.A. has achieved an important increase of its turnover for the first quarter of 2001 against the corresponding period of 2000. Specifically the company's sales reached GRD 7.4 billion in this period against GRD 5.7 billion in the same period of 2000, i.e. an increase of 29%, while 85% concerns exports.The profit before tax for the first quarter of 2001 will amount to GRD 360 million against GRD 283.5 million in the corresponding period of 2000, i.e. an increase of 27%.Within the frame of the program for full modernization of the machinery and equipment and the expansion of the production capacity of the company's mills, the total investments for the year 2001 will reach the amount of GRD 2.6 billion. Since the beginning of the year the company has already realized investments of GRD 1.1 billion.The results for the first quarter 2001 are in line with the annual budget which provides sales turnover of GRD 26.6 billion and profit before tax of GRD 1.65 billion.
