SIGNING OF TRIPARTITE CONTRACT FOR SKIATHOS HIGH VOLTAGE INTERCONNECTION

The company “ADMIE (IPTO) HOLDING S.A.” (hereinafter the “Company”), informs that its affiliate, ADMIE (IPTO) Group, announces that the Skiathos interconnection with the High Voltage System successfully proceeds to the implementation phase following the signing of the contract for the GIS Substation which will be constructed on the island by IPTO, HEDNO and the contractor ABB.

The EUR 9.5 million tripartite contract was signed on 28 May 2020 at the headquarters of the Independent Power Transmission Operator. This is the first electrical interconnection project assigned through the co-declaration process by the two Operators.

The submarine interconnection between Skiathos and Mantoudi- Evia, total budgeting of EUR 52.3 million, is expected to be completed by late 2021. The cable section, the contract of which was signed in February with Hellenic Cables, is under construction. With the electrification of the new 150 kV line, the power supply of the islands Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos will be stabilized and the island complex will be energetically shielded during the summer months.

Mr. Μanos Manousakis, the Chairman and CEO of ADMIE (IPTO) Group stated: "IPTO continues its investment plan uninterruptedly with the aim of electrifying all the islands of the country by 2029. Skiathos is included in the first implementation phase of our 10-year plan and is expected to be interconnected with the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System in less than two years. Another island complex, the Sporades, will be powered by the mainland system with stability and reliability in the summer months. "

Mr. Anastasios Manos, the CEO of HEDNO, stated: "For HEDNO, upgrading infrastructure on all islands is a strategic priority. Our medium-term goal, through strengthening infrastructure, is that all our islands constitute a model at a European level for the effective and efficient operation of large interconnected power systems with very high RES penetration and integration of environmentally friendly technologies. "

The Chairman and CEO of ABB Power Grids, Mr. Kostas Papadopoulos, pointed out: "The implementation of the closed GIS Substation on the island of Skiathos by ABB Power Grids is an additional guarantee for IPTO and HEDNO, since the energy supply to the local community will be done using highly reliable technological equipment, as it has been demonstrated by our corresponding projects operating in the Greek Electricity System over the past two decades."
