ATHEXClear Certifications
Each member wishing to have access to the Securities and derivatives clearing systems of ATHEXClear must employ personnel that hold the appropriate professional qualifications, as follows:
SECURITIES CLEARING SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE (SCSC) - SCSC Certificate relates to the duties of a Certified Securities Clearer of a Clearing Member of the ATHEXClear Securities System
DERIVATIVES CLEARING SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE (DCSC) - DCSC Certificate relates to the duties of a Certified Derivatives Clearer of a Clearing Member of the ATHEXClear Derivatives System
Certification exams are conducted by ATHEX Group at least once a year. They are written exercises in multiple choice form. Exam duration is 120 minutes for each certificate and candidates must answer correctly at least sixty per cent (60%) of the questions.
Candidates to be able to participate in the exams must meet all of the following requirements:
- are at least 18 years old
- meet the minimum personal reliability standards as these are laid down in the relevant provisions of Resolution 3/505/3.4.2009 of the BoD of the Capital Market Commission on certification of professional qualifications regarding the provision of investment services, as in force.
- have paid the fees in favor of the ATHEXClear (€150)
Exams syllabus
The syllabus for the SCSC and DCSC certification examinations relates to Regulations, the Securities and Derivatives Systems and other issues concerning transactions on ATHEX and transaction-related systems, especially the DSS managed by the Central Securities Depository SA. The contents of the syllabus for the ATHEXClear certifications are as follows:
