VINEYARD (Versatile Integrated Accelerator-based Heterogeneous Data Centres)

Will

Build an integrated platform for energy-efficient data centres based on novel programmable hardware accelerators (Dataflow engines and FPGA-based servers).

Develop a high-level programming framework and big data infrastructure for allowing end-users to seamlessly utilize these accelerators in heterogeneous computing systems by employing typical data-centre programming frameworks (i.e. Spark.).

Athens Exchange Group Role

The main role of ATHEX is to provide requirements for the use case scenario which includes a) a high-speed matching engine and b) a real-time analytics applications for financial transactions. ATHEX will prepare and make available to the project, streams with trading data that are produced in abundance every day during the trading sessions.

Moreover, it will monitor system design and implementation conformance to needs as well as evaluate the final implementation in terms of usability and feasibility into real and productive financial business environments.
