In reply to the ATHEX letter we inform you the following:

a)The Board of Directors of ATEbank on 27-02-2006 approved the audited financial statements for 2005. These statements including the auditors' notes and the BoD statement have been announced today and refer to issues raised in press articles of previous days. b)The BoD of ATEbank will take decisions in a future meeting regarding the dividend distribution, return of capital, etc. Any decision will be announced to the investors immediately. c)In regard to the placement of the shares, Hellenic State is responsible for the time and the terms of the shares distribution.
