Contract for the archiving and dissemination of electronic documents of the EU awarded to INTRASOFT International

One of the most important contracts in the field of archiving and dissemination of European Union publications has been awarded to INTRASOFT International by the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities (OPOCE). The Euro 3.3 million award has duration of 6 years.
OPOCE is the most important publisher of information on the activities and policies of the institutions and other bodies of the European Union, such as the European Parliament and the European Commission. OPOCE publishes the Official Journals, the COM documents, the Parliament reports, the consolidated Community legislation, EUROSTAT publications, and others. Most of these publications are provided in 20 European languages.
EUDOR is the publication archive system where all official documents are electronically archived. It enables users to order a publication using various criteria, such as publication type, date of publication, publication identification number, etc. The user can purchase the required documents using a credit card or an annual subscription and, receive them electronically (email, FTP, CD, DVD, etc).
The EUDOR system is directly linked to several interfaces (EUR LEX, EU Bookshop, and others) and receives an average of 17,000 user requests per month. The archive currently contains around 1.7 TB of data (around 76,000 publications). The system is operational 24/7 with 99% availability, using high-end technology for both services (archiving and dissemination): high storage capacity (Optical Disks Robots) and high speed dissemination capacity able to disseminate up to 300 requests per hour or around 450,000 pages monthly.
INTRASOFT International is the prime contractor and EADS Defence and Security Systems acts as a subcontractor. The contract includes the upgrade of the system, which will allow faster archiving and dissemination services and a greater storage capacity, as well as system maintenance and operational services. It is worth mentioning that the Institution has awarded this contract to INTRASOFT International for the second consecutive time.
