The Athens court of first instance (in accordance with its injunctive measures procedure), in its ruling No. 5261/2005 of 06/07/2005, granted three (3) applications for temporary injunctions filed by OPAP S.A. against the sports newspapers FOS TON SPOR, SPORTIME and GOAL NEWS, which advertised companies offering absolute and variable fixed odds betting, which is prohibited in Greece according to article 2 law 2433/1996.

According to the court's ruling the three sports newspapers have been enjoined from promoting and advertising in any way in Greece companies offering absolute and variable fixed odds betting, their services and products. Further, the ruling contemplates a monetary penalty of euros 3,000 for each instance of non compliance with it.
