SELECTION OF CONTRACTORS FOR THE CABLE PARTS OF THE CRETE – ATTICA INTERCONNECTION

 

The company “ADMIE (IPTO) HOLDING S.A.” (or “Company”), informs that Ariadne Interconnection, a 100% subsidiary of its affiliate, IPTO S.A., announces the successful completion of the tender process for the cable parts of the Crete – Attica Interconnection and the selection of contractors for the four parts of the project.

Following the electronic auctioning held on 14th November 2019, the successful bidders were designated as follows:

  1. Prysmian, for the first part regarding the design, supply and installation of one of the two submarine cables that will connect Crete to Attica and the electrode stations of Crete and Attica.
  2. Nexans, for the second part that relates to the second submarine cable.
  3. The companies Hellenic Cables – NKT for the third part that relates to the underground cable parts that will connect the Converter Stations of Crete and Attica with the submarine cable parts.
  4. Prysmian, for the fourth part that relates to the design, supply and installation of optical fibers.

The project has been included in the list of the Projects of the Operational Program "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of NSRF 2014-2020”

As noted by the Chairman of Ariadne Interconnection, Chairman of BoD and CEO of IPTO GROUP, Mr. Manos Manousakis “The selection of contractors for the cable parts of the project confirms the largest infrastructure project in Power Transmission Operations, which proceeds without delays. The Interconnection of Crete with the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System, a major priority of National strategic energy plan, is successfully entering the phase of implementation, in order to fully ensure the interconnection of Crete with the Mainland till 2023.”
