Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company S.A. (Coca-Cola HBC, CCHBC), announced today restructuring initiatives in its Greek operation as part of its strategy to improve its efficiency. These initiatives are expected to support the growth of the business as well as yield significant operating efficiency benefits in future years.
CCHBC is planning to transfer production capacity and streamline warehouses in Greece. Specifically, production currently carried out at the Athens plant will be relocated to the Schimatari plant (which is 40km away from Athens) and the warehouses of Messologi, Corfu and Rhodes will cease operations. These initiatives will impact approximately 150 employees out of a total of 2400 employees of Coca-Cola HBC Greece. The company has begun consultations with the local unions to determine the final terms and conditions. Coca-Cola HBC is one of the world's largest bottlers of products of The Coca-Cola Company and has operations in 26 countries serving a population of approximately 540 million people. CCHBC shares are listed on the Athens Exchange (ATHEX: EEEK), with secondary listings on the London (LSE: CCB) and Australian (ASX: CHB) Stock Exchanges. CCHBC's American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: CCH).
