Piraeus Bank S.A. informs the investment community that has submitted as of today, January 15th, 2007, to the Board of Cyprus Stock Exchange, according to Regulation 9 (3) "regarding Public Offer for acquisition or purchase of securities and merger of listed companies", the document of its Public Offer towards the shareholders of MARFIN POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD, which document has been also notified to the Cypriot Capital Market Commission, as well as the Board of Directors of MARFIN POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD.
