Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (ASE: HTO, NYSE: OTE), the Greek full-service telecommunications provider, today announces that as of February 1, 2007, Mr. Georgios Ioannidis assumes the position of Chief Executive Officer of RomTelecom, OTE''s 54.01% owned incumbent telecom operator in Romania, in replacement of Mr. James Hubley who held the position since March 2003.
Since June 2000, Mr. Ioannidis holds the position of CEO at OTE''s 94.59% owned Internet Service Provider, OTEnet, and concurrently serves as Chief Technology Officer of OTE SA since September 2004. Mr Ioannidis is also a member of numerous OTE Group companies'' Boards, including RomTelecom''s Board of Directors.
As RomTelecom''s shareholder, OTE SA would like to express its appreciation for Mr. Hubley''s decisive contribution to the successful restructuring of the company.
