In response to a letter sent by the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission dated 07.12.2011 and following an announcement of the same date, Alpha Bank: (a) reports that the phase II evaluation to which the Hellenic Competition Commission has proceeded, regarding its merger with EFG Eurobank Ergasias, may extend up to the expiration of the period referred to in article 8 par. 6 L.3959/2011 and (b) reaffirms its commitment to cooperate jointly with EFG Eurobank Ergasias and the Hellenic Competition Commission in order to promptly obtain the required approval by the latter.
