Calculation of Total Return Indices

The Athens Exchange taking into consideration the introduction of new trading products and the development of new mechanisms that will facilitate market participants, calculated Total Return Indices for the FTSE/Athex Index Series of the Athex Big Capitalization Category (FTSE/Athex 20, FTSE/Athex Mid 40 and FTSE/Athex International).
The above-mentioned decision follows the decision on calculation of the Total Return Index for the Athex Composite Price Index that was taken in March 2001.

The start price for the calculation of the Total Return Indices is the closing price of the Price Index at 31/12/2001 for the FTSE/Athex 20 Index and FTSE/Athex Mid 40 Index. The start price for the Total Return Index of the FTSE/Athex International is the starting price of the price index at launch date (31/12/2005).

The Total Return Indices are calculating the return of the price index, assuming that the dividend at ex-date will be reinvested using the following formula:

Where:
i = time moment RIi = the price of the Total Return Index at time i
Xi = the price of the Price Index at time i
Xi-1 = the price of the Price Index at time i-1
ADi = the dividend value at time i
Mi = the Price Index market cap at time i
