Due to the fact that it has come to our knowledge that Maniateas Group issued a press bulletin on 10.07.2007 entitled "MULTIPLE CONVICTIONS AGAINST GENIKI BANK" and in order to reinstate the truth we announce that:
The company MC MULTICAPITAL SA of Maniateas Group, filed a lawsuit against GENIKI BANK before the arbitration Court, asking for the payment of the total amount of Euro 57.482.345,63. Regarding this lawsuit, which was tried together with a contrary lawsuit by GENIKI BANK, decision no 18/2006 of Arbitration Court was issued, rejecting the lawsuit of MULTICAPITAL in total with the exception of an amount of 300.000. At the same time the Court accepted the contrary lawsuit filed by GENIKI BANK for the amount of 532.939,40, so after counter balancing the amounts there remains a claim of the Bank, based on the above decision of the Arbitration Court, for the amount of Euro 232.939,40, with the legal interest from the day the lawsuit was served and until the full payment.
There exists no other claim imposed against the Bank by any Court decision. On the other hand the recent filing on behalf of MULTICAPITAL of new lawsuits only revives claims that have already been rejected by the above mentioned decision of the Arbitration Court.
On the contrary, the Bank reserves against the above mentioned company and its guarantor Elias Maniateas claims of substantial amounts, resulting from financing for part of which a Payment Order has been already issued by the Athens Court of First Instance.
It goes without saying that GENIKI BANK reserves all its lawful rights.
