Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (ASE: HTO, NYSE: OTE), the Greek full-service telecommunications provider, in response to recent articles in the local press, states the following:
- OTE is reviewing the option of refinancing Group debt, within the coming weeks. The Company will timely inform the financial markets of any final decision on this issue.
- Any payment of dividend by OTE S.A. requires a relevant decision by the Company?s General Assembly, following a proposal by the Company?s Board of Directors.
- In line with what has been reported over the last year, around 700 OTE employees had requested that their military service was recognised as employment years, so that they could participate in OTE?s voluntary retirement programme. OTE?s pension fund, TAP-OTE, had turned down their request and these employees have taken their case to court. The court?s decision is still pending.
Any reports or comments, by third parties, different to the aforementioned points should be considered as merely hypotheses and judgements by the respective writers.
