Athens, February 19, 2002 · DATAMED S.A., a company of the Altec Group, in cooperation with ALTEC S.A., as the project coordinator and with the cooperation of other European institutions from France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany, signed a contract with the European Committee, involving the development of a prototype system named ?ERMIS?, for the creation of a more friendly work environment between the user and the Personal Computer.

The system will have the ability to ?interpret? the reactions and emotional state of the users, by taking into consideration their speech, their facial expressions and gestures.

Special attention will be given to the evaluation of the system's ?ability? to improve the effectiveness of the service rendered as well as the development of ?friendliness? to the user.

The assignment of the project from the European Committee, took place within the framework of the IST program and its total duration is 36 months. The amount of the contract reaches 2,458,626 Euro.
