Specifically, revenues for the period under review reached 1,473.7 million euros compared to 1,256.8 million euros for the previous year, representing a 17.3% increase.

EBITDA margin increased to 39.2% from 37.5% in the previous year. This increase was the result of the above mentioned revenues increase, economies of scale that resulted from the recent mergers and acquisitions and the reduction in subsidies. Income before taxes increased 42.3% to 366.9 million euros compared to 257.9 million euros, reflecting the exceptional write down of investments that took place last year. Net income rose to 235.4 million euros compared to 152.7 million euros for the previous year - a rise of 54.2% - whereas net income margin increased 4 percentage points to 16%. Specifically, blended ARPU for the year increased 4% to 31.5 euros from 30.3 euros in the comparative period, while blended AMOU increased by 18 minutes versus the comparative period, reaching 114 minutes.

Regarding customer base activity, Vodafone-Panafon's active customer base(3) for the last quarter (Jan. - Mar. 04) increased significantly to 82.8% from 78% (Jul. - Sep. 03).

The increase was partly attributed to the clearance of the customer base from inactive customers (due to the recent change in the disconnection policy for prepaid customers from (12+6) to (12+1) months) and partly due to the increase in the contract customer base to 77.3%. Prepaid customers activity remained at the healthy levels of 95%. The above-mentioned results constitute evidence of the successful customer-centric commercial policy followed by the Company.
