HELEX Group offers EUR 1m to fire victims

The Hellenic Exchanges Group, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, provided material assistance to Municipalities of Messinia Prefecture, which was badly affected by the destructive fires in August.

1 million euro offer of HELEX Group to the fire victims of Messinia

Hellenic Exchanges Group, as another action of its social responsibility program. offered aid to the fire victims of Messinia affected by the devastating fires in August.

Within this strategy, HELEX Group contributed in the reconstruction of affected regions with the offer of 1 million euro and instruments. The first days after the fires of August, Mr Spyros Capralos, Chairman of ATHEX and Managing Director of HELEX in his statement encouraged the listing companies of ATHEX,  the members and the investors to offer assistance of any kind.

More specifically , HELEX Group offered the amount of 216.000 euro in cash to 41 families in different regions of Alagonia and to municipalities of Messinia. These regions were selected in cooperation with the Metropolis of Messinia in order to cover basic survivor needs after the damage of fires.

On Friday, 20 December, HELEX Group delivered 9 machines in 7 Municipalities of the wider region of Messinia, that are expected to contribute to the redevelopment of affected regions, of total value 765.000 euro.

During the ceremony of material delivery, Mr Spyros Capralos in his speech to the Normach of Messinia, Mr Dimitri Drako, declared relatively:

"We, in HELEX Group, from the first moment stood near to the fire victims showing in facts the social responsibility that characterizes our company. Of course, we do not expect to solve the problem of your region with our offer. We become, however, participants in the massive effort to develop this region again, we committed to stand next to you and keep watching with pleasure the essential rebirth of our region."

With a symbolic movement, Mr Capralos gave to all Mayors of the regions a pot with an olive tree, the same gift HELEX Group sent to all his collaborators as a motivate to be more sensitive to the protection of the environment.

HELEX Group' s initiatives concerning the assistance to fire damaged regions, are characterized by a long-term planning and actions that will expected to have results in-depth time. Final objective is to give a breath of life to all these people that have real needs and to contribute in the improvement of their life conditions.
