EMPORIKI BANK S.A. presents herewith to the investing public the following information regarding the share capital increase carried out in the form of a Rights' Issue (in favor of old shareholders, which its 2nd Recurring Shareholders General Meeting approved on September 21, 2005. The relevant Rights Issue was completed on December 22, 2005, 26,478,294 new common registered shares were issued of a nominal value of EUR 5.50 each and an issue price of EUR 15.00 per share. The total amount that was raised amounted to EUR 397,174.41 thousand. Issue costs reached EUR 5,766.42 thousand and as a result, the total amount that was raised (after the deduction of issue costs) amounted to EUR 391,407.99 thousand.

Also, the 26,478,294 new shares that were issued were introduced for trading on the Athens Exchange on January 3, 2006.

The funds that have been raised from the aforementioned share capital increase of the bank were entirely used for enhancing the capital adequacy of Emporiki Bank S.A..
