INTRASOFT International re-awarded a Euro 5.3 million e-Government contract for the European Commission

Following the success of the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS), run by INTRASOFT International during 6th Framework Program, has been re-awarded, following an international tender, a contract for its extension in 2007. This is one of the key IT projects for the implementation of the 7th Framework Program (FP7). The Euro 5,300,000 contract has duration of 7 years.
The EPSS project during FP6, concerned the design, development and operation of an on-line Internet-based system, as well as a separate stand-alone system facilitating the preparation and submission processes of proposals for FP6 (2002-2006).
The new contract extends the operation and maintenance of the EPSS information system including the provision of the necessary hardware and telecom platforms during the lifetime of the contract, the maintenance of the systems and error correction, the improvement and the addition of new functionality as required, the interface to the Evaluation Support Service (ESS) and to Commission systems and finally the provision of end user assistance. The EPSS system will continue to operate with increased security standards and include operational and technical support services (such as a trilingual help-desk), defined and monitored by a strict Service Level Agreement (SLA).
During FP6, the Electronic Proposal Submission System successfully achieved the target of replacing the conventional procedure for proposal submission by post. The total number of submitted proposals was almost 39,000 and this number is expected to grow for FP7 which will start in the beginning of 2007.
