INTRASOFT International undertakes e-government projects in Latvia and Lithuania

INTRASOFT International S.A, a member of the INTRACOM Group, was awarded ?following an international tender- the implementation of Latvian Custom's Computerised Transit Control System. The project, based on a modern web-based development environment, is implemented in consortium with the Finnish company Hewlett Packard ΟΥ and is purposed to both serve the needs of the country's commerce, pertaining to transportation and monitoring of goods from the point of departure to the final destination, as well as facilitate the electronic submission of Transit Declarations and secure exchange of electronic documents and information between all involved parties (traders, transport companies) within the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS). NCTS has been placed in full operation since July 2003 and INTRASOFT International is one of the primary European Commission partners in the development and support of this system.

Furthermore, INTRASOFT International, following an international tender, undertook the implementation of a complex project for Lithuanian Customs, in collaboration with local company INFORMACINES TECHNOLOGIJOS UAB. This project is modular, comprising of a group of applications for the coverage of a wide range of Lithuanian Customs' computerization demands. The project is expected to cover customs guarantee management, transit and traders risk analysis and management, as well as TIR and ΑΤΑ carnet transports. Furthermore, within the framework of this project, INTRASOFT International will develop an application similar to the one of Latvian Customs, pertaining to national commerce.

The implementation and operation of the above systems constitute one of the obligations resulting from the inclusion of the two countries in question into the European Union. INTRASOFT International?s know-how and long-standing experience in the area of Tariff and Custom systems constituted one of the basic factors for the selection of the company, while vouching for prompt and qualitative implementation of the afore-mentioned systems.
