PIRAEUS BANK S.A. announces that 1,606,988 new ordinary registered shares will start being traded on the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday 10/1/2007. Said shares resulted from a recent share capital increase by euro 7,665,332.76 due to the exercise of stock options by the Board members and executive managers of the Bank and affiliated companies, following a resolution of the Board of Directors dated 27/12/2006. Specifically, the above shares were granted to 228 persons at a purchase price of euro 9.76 per share, by virtue of a resolution of the iterative Shareholders Meeting dated 16/05/2005 (as amended by the iterative Shareholders Meeting of the shareholders dated 15/05/2006) as well as to 236 persons at a purchase price of euro 17.25 per share, pursuant to a resolution of the iterative General Meeting of the shareholders dated 15/05/2006.
Such increase, which does not constitute an amendment of the Articles of Association, was duly certified by the Board of Directors of the Bank on 28/12/2006 and it was duly filed with the Companies? Registry following the relevant announcement No. Κ2-18486(bis)/ 3.1.2007.
The Board of Directors of the Athens Stock Exchange approved the listing for trading of the above 1,606,988 new ordinary registered shares of the Bank during its meeting held on 4/1/2007.
By virtue of a resolution of the Board of Directors of the Bank it is stipulated that the above shares will start being traded on the Athens Stock Exchange on 10/1/2007. On the same date, the opening trading price of the shares of the Bank will be determined, in accordance with the Athens Stock Exchange Rule Book and the new shares will have been credited to the securities accounts of the beneficiaries shareholders, kept with the Dematerialized Securities System (DSS).
