MERGER BETWEEN ASE AND ADEX

The decision of the General Secretariat of Commerce, which approves the merger of the companies ?Athens Stock Exchange S.A.? and ?Athens Derivatives Exchange S.A.?, both subsidiaries of HELEX, has been registered in the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies. As of August 31st, 2002, following the approval of the competent department of the Ministry of Development, the trade name of the new company is ??Athens Exchange S.A.?.
