MICHANIKI S.A. is declared the preferred bidder for the construction of Sykia Dam, budgeted at 170 m. euros
Michaniki S.A. construction group is the preferred bidder for the: 'Completion of Sykia Dam' budgeted at 170,0 million euros, that was tendered by the Greek Ministry of Public Works (YPEHODE/ EYDE/ OSYE).
Sykia dam is the second most important large hydraulic public project in Greece, concerning the diversion of Acheloos river towards Thessaly, central Greece. To project will provide energy and irrigation to the extended area.
The project consists of the construction of a rockfill dam total vol. of 11.6 million m3 with central clay core, total height of 165 m. and length 440 m. The project also includes the construction of a hydraulic tunnel with concrete lining, (diameter 11 m.) 952 m. long.
The Sykia Dam will be situated at close proximity to Piges village, located between Arta and Karditsa regions of central Greece. The time schedule for the completion of the project is 65 months.
