MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS REPLY TO A QUESTION FROM THE HELLENIC CAPITAL MARKET COMMISSION
“Ιn response to a relevant publication and to a question from the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, the Company confirms that in order to avoid further litigation before the Greek Courts as well as potential consequences for the Hellenic Republic from further delay, ALUMINIUM and the PPC have reached an agreement pursuant to which ALUMINIUM has already paid to the PPC the sum of €21.3 million (€17.4 million plus interest), the recovery of which had been requested by the European Commission on the grounds that it constituted State Aid. ALUMINIUM maintains its view that no State Aid was granted and will therefore await the hearing of its application before the General Court of the EU, looking forward to a ruling in its favour which will result in the above amount being returned. In the event that the General Court of the EU does not rule in favour of ALUMINIUM, this will have a negative impact equal to the above sum on the Group's financial statements.
The hearing of the case before the General Court of the EU has been set for 04.06.2014."
