The Athens Stock Exchange, in partnership with the Chambers of Heraklion and Chania, held informational events for the presentation of the Roots program and the financing solutions available through the Athens Stock Exchange, on the 29th and 20th of March, to representatives of the local business community of Crete.
The event that was held in Heraklion was addressed and coordinated by the President of the Chamber, Mr. Manolis Alifierakis, whereas the event held in Chania was addressed by Mr. Antonis Rokaksi, president of the respective Chamber, and was coordinated by the Chamber's Head of Business Consultancy, Mr. Dimitris Mountakis. The presentation on behalf of the Athens Stock Exchange was made by Ms. Georgia Mourla, Director of Listings Division.
The events were attended by representatives of listed companies based in Crete (Heraklion event: Mr. Antonis Adamis, Investor Relations Director, STRUCTURAL GROUP CRETE, and Mr. Manolis Damianakis, KRITON ARTOS, Chania Event: Mr. Stelios Stamos, CFO, ANEK LINES and Mr. Stelios Domazakis, IR Director, KRETA FARM), as well as representatives of the Roots program partners (Heraklion event: Mr. Giorgos Perakis, Regional Manager, National Bank of Greece, and Mr. Emmanouil Diamantoulakis, Senior Partner, GRANT THORNTON - Chania event: Mr. Konstantinos Antonakakis, Partner, GRANT THORNTON).
The Roots program is a dynamically evolving, collective initiative by the healthy productive forces of the country, who share their experience and know-how, mainly aiming to facilitate SMEs in accessing investment funds and to familiarise them with international regulations and best practices The Corporate Champions already supporting the program are the National Bank of Greece, ElvalHalcor, Hellas Gold, Papastratos, TEMES, TITAN and PIraeus Bank, and Advisory Partners are companies Grant Thronton and Deloitte. The educational aspect of the program is supported by experienced partners such as the CFA Society Greece, the Global Competitiveness Academy (GCA) and the Arizona State University, as well as internationally acclaimed academics of this discipline.
This program is addressed to small and medium sized enterprises that offer a functional product or service with elements of innovation and are in a position of presenting a business proposal with significant growth prospects and the ability to attract the interest of investors.
