INTRALOT AT THE 32ND ATHENS MARATHON
RACE FOR GOOD CAUSES
INTRALOT participated in the 32nd Athens Marathon, a global sports event with a social and historical character, which spreads the ideals of freedom, democracy, fair play and personal excellence. With over 35,000 runners, this year's event broke all the previous records and was very successful.
For the third consecutive year, “INTRALOT Runners” ran the 5km, 10km and 42km races of this year's Marathon with the aim to support the NGO "Greek Society for the Protection of Autistic People (E.E.P.A.A.)". More than 270 runners wearing the INTRALOT orange t-shirt participated at the race to raise awareness and foster the participation of autistic persons in social life.
Moreover, the company organized a fund raiser on behalf of the NGO “The Smile of the Child”, through an internal betting competition on INTRALOT Runners, whereby corporate employees placed their bets on the runners. The scope of this initiative was to support the activities of “The Smile of the Child” towards defending the rights of children, and provide them the necessary physical, mental and spiritual balance.
INTRALOT Group CEO, Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos, who ran the Athens Marathon race of 42km for the 9th consecutive year, commented after crossing the finish line: “We are very happy to participate at this big celebration. INTRALOT Runners surpassed themselves and revealed the power of the human mind over the human body. I would like to congratulate them all for their participation and their will to support two wonderful causes, the work of E.E.P.A.A. and the Smile of The Child”.
The support of E.E.P.A.A. and the Smile of the Child in this year's Athens Marathon is part of INTRALOT's CSR program “INTRALOT – We Care a Lot”.
