INTRACOM Defense Electronics undertook a new project for the production of electronic units for the NATO ground-to-air Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM). The project concerns manufacturing of the missile''s telemetry electronics in the year 2008 and amounts to Euro 1.6 million of a total Euro 7.1 million budget, which is expected to be assigned gradually by the German company RAM-System until 2010.
Since 1995, INTRACOM Defense Electronics participates in the program for the design and development of ESSM''s telemetry electronics, which incorporates state-of-the-art missile systems technologies.
With this project the Company strengthens its long-term partnerships with the large international defense industries, therefore boosting its international activities. In 2006 the Company''s exports reached 67.6% of the turnover.
Moreover, INTRACOM Defense Electronics participates in 2 international tenders published by RAYTHEON, regarding the production of additional ESSM missile electronic units with a total budget of $15 million and a 4-year duration.
