Press Release¨- The European Commission awards INTRASOFT International consortiuma 37.8 million EUR contract

Luxembourg, December 2, 2013 – A consortium that includes INTRASOFT International has been awarded a framework contract of 37.8 million EUR value by the European Commission - Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) for the provision of IT services in the areas of Taxation and Excise (FITSDEV3), highlighting once more INTRASOFT's International prominent position as a leading provider of IT services for Taxation, Excise and Customs.

 The scope of this contract is the provision of business and technical specifications, development, maintenance of applications and support of all existing and future Taxation and Excise Trans-European Systems and applications. INTRASOFT's International participation is estimated at 45% of the project. The consortium also includes Arhs Developments S.A. The project has an initial 3-year duration, but can be renewed up to 5 times, each time for a period of 12 months, with a maximum duration of 8 years.

 DG TAXUD provides a wide portfolio of Trans-European IT systems and services to Member States, businesses and citizens, as well as to the Commission internal staff that are critical for the sustainability of EU policies and objectives in the field of customs and taxation.

About the Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union

The Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union's mission is to develop and manage the Customs Union, a foundation of the European Union, and to develop and implement tax policy across the EU for the benefit of citizens, businesses and the Member States. A trans-European system (TES) performs specific business functions in Customs or Taxation as defined in or in support of Union policies. TES is a collection of collaborating systems with responsibilities distributed across the National Administrations and the Commission. It includes processes, applications, services and infrastructure. Taxation and Excise TES contribute to the achievement of DG TAXUD's mission, as they support the real-life implementation of tax and excise policy across the EU for the benefit of its citizens, businesses and Member States. The main business objectives of TES and applications for Taxation and Excise are to assist Member States in fighting against fraud and tax evasion and to reduce compliance costs for citizens and businesses.
