Press Release INTRASOFT International consortium wins €21.9M contract within the biggest EU Research and Innovation Program
Luxembourg, May 5, 2015 – The CENTAUR2 consortium led by INTRASOFT International has been selected by the European Commission - Directorate-General for Research and Innovation to be the first priority contractor in a cascading framework contract of a total estimated value of 21.9 million EUR for the provision of external services for the development, studies and support of IT systems.
The contract (ISS - HORIZON 2020 - Lot 2) represents one of the most important contracts within the European Commission, as HORIZON 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation Program ever, with nearly 80 billion EUR of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). It also covers services to be provided for former Framework Programs (including FP5, FP6, FP7).
INTRASOFT International's participation is estimated to reach up to 8.5 million EUR of the total budget (about 39% of the aforementioned total budget). The consortium also includes Sword Technologies and ARHS Developments. The project has a 4-year maximum duration.
The purpose of the project is the provision of IT services for the development and maintenance of IT systems related to the management of Research and Innovation grant projects. These services may include the development and maintenance of legacy applications and Open Source Software (OSS) developments. Under this framework contract, the consortium can provide services to a number of other Executive Agencies and Bodies, apart from the specific DG.
The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation's mission is to develop and implement the European Research and Innovation policy with a view to achieving the goals of Europe 2020 and the Innovation Union.
