Press Release - INTRASOFT International successfully completes 3 million USD

Luxembourg, September 9, 2014 – INTRASOFT International, the leading European IT Solutions and Services Group with strong international presence in over 70 countries, has successfully completed the new Core Social Security & Pension Administration System of the National Social Security Fund of Kenya (NSSF) -based in Nairobi, Kenya.

INTRASOFT International was selected through an official tender process in 2012 by the National Social Security Fund of Kenya among a great number of IT Solutions & Services companies to implement this 3 million USD project. The project started in June 2012 in cooperation with the local IT partner VERVE K.O and was successfully completed in early October 2013. Currently, the project is in the maintenance phase, which will be run by INTRASOFT International for 4 years.

NSSF's Core Social Security & Pension Administration System (SSPAS) is an Integrated Information system, which automates NSSF's Social Security processes, replacing all manual processes with automated electronic ones. As a result, this new system can support NSSF's strategic plan to offer high-quality services to its stakeholders by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Social Security services, while at the same time it can optimize the performance of the organization's business processes in reference to time and costs and serve as a valuable internal tool for decision-making.

Specifically, the new System integrates NSSF's different business areas such as Employers Registry, Members Registry, Contributions Collections and Payments, Compliance, Debts and Settlements, Benefits Awards and Payments, Complaints Management, providing also the corresponding electronic services through its web portal. Additionally, it supports the on-line integration with other organizations, such as Banks and the Kenyan Revenue Authority through web services. The web portal will enhance the direct communication with members and employers via value added e-services, which will improve the quality of the provided services and decrease significantly the physical presence of employers and members at NSSF Branches.  Internally, the new system will help NSSF Administration better monitor and control on line all performed transactions and check at any given time all daily operations, performance and productivity of NSSF officers.

The National Social Security Fund of Kenya (NSSF) was established in 1965 by an Act of Parliament to administer a provident fund scheme for all workers in Kenya and is now an autonomous decentralized governmental organization, operating under a Board of Trustees, represented by the government, workers and employers. NSSF's membership has grown steadily over the years and by the end of 2013, it had a cumulative registered membership of about 5 million. In recent years, the Fund has embarked on a reform program to convert itself from a National Provident Fund Scheme to a Social Insurance Pension Scheme. Today, it continues to work on enhancing its organizational performance and improving the quality of services it provides to its members. The reorganization and restructuring program of the Fund is based on its vision to transform itself to a modern decentralized organisation, offering quality services to its stakeholders. The system under implementation will greatly assist the Fund to realize its goals, supporting NSSF's enterprise activities.

Mr. Athanasios Kotsis, CEO of INTRASOFT International commented: “For INTRASOFT International, the NSSF project has been a success case and a benchmark for the African continent. This project marks the third similar system implemented INTRASOFT International globally and the first in the African continent. We are confident that the operation of the new System will substantially strengthen NSSF and help the organization offer very high-quality Social Security services to its stakeholders. We are additionally proud because this project enhances our position in the vertical market of integrated IT systems for Social Security and demonstrates the trust of national governments worldwide in our people and the high quality services we provide.”
