Press Release - New €3M Customs Contract signed by INTRASOFT International in SE Asia
Luxembourg, April 16, 2015 - INTRASOFT International signed a 2.987 million EUR contract for the implementation of the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS) for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
This latest project highlights INTRASOFT International's leading position as a worldwide expert and a market leader in the design, integration, deployment and operational management of Customs IT Systems and consultation services around the world. The company offerings cover a wide spectrum of Customs requirements, including the provision of technical expertise and automation of Customs processes to reflect National and Regional needs taking into account International standards.
ACTS is a Customs management system designed to facilitate the movement of goods being transported by road throughout ASEAN Member States (AMS). INTRASOFT International will design and develop the software applications and the communication systems required to manage and monitor the movement of goods from the Customs Office of Departure to the Customs Office of Destination in the Member States. This will be tested during a pilot operation linking Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore over the major North-South corridor of ASEAN.
The ACTS system will be owned and operated by the AMS Customs Administrations. Each Administration will have an individual ACTS application installed at the national level which will be connected through the ASEAN Closed Secure Network (ACSN) with the other Member States.
The ASEAN Customs Transit System will simplify and harmonize transport, trade and customs regulations and requirements for the purpose of facilitation of goods in transit. It will also establish the basis for a complete, efficient, integrated and harmonized transit transport system in ASEAN.
Mr. Alexandros Manos, CEO of INTRASOFT International commented: “We are very proud of this new international success, a strong indicator of the company's world-wide reputation of a trustful IT partner. INTRASOFT International has the ability as well the capacity to deliver regional multi-national integration projects of high complexity and importance. With a long list of project references in Customs Administrations in more than 25 countries globally, this latest project is -once again- a clear proof of the leading position INTRASOFT International holds in the design, deployment and operational management of Customs-centric IT systems.”
