In accordance with the provision of article 16, par. 10 of Law 2190/1920, as currently in force, article 290, par.5 of Athens Exchange Rulebook and further to the decision of the Annual General Meeting of shareholders of Piraeus Bank, dated 12/04/06, Piraeus Bank S.A. announces that the period of time for purchase of its treasury shares ended on 12/04/2007. The number of shares acquired amounted to 20.780.044 at the average purchase price of Euro Euro 20,75. The total treasury shares owned by the Bank, following the sale of 15.000.000 of its treasury shares to institutional investors, amount to 7.966.709 and represent 2,95% of its share capital.
