NIREUS S.A., would like to make the following statement, following an official request by the market authorities, to comment on specific articles posted in HMEΡΗΣΙΑ and ΒΗΜΑ newspapers, regarding an enterprise buy-out in Spain:
Our Company, would like to confirm the information in the said articles as valid and accurate, noting that being in the process of implementing its strategic plans as a worldwide producer in the aquaculture sector (already mentioned in its Annual Report 2005 -pg. 48-49), it takes certain steps to specific countries, including Spain. For this reason, our Company currently examines possible business proposals in that country, in order to determine carefully which one could serve best its interest as well as the interests of its shareholders.
The Group''s policy in the treatment of such published information is in line with the relative pertaining legislation as set from the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (H.C.M.C.) and the Athens Stock Exchange authorities (H.C.M.C. decision No 5/204/14-11-2000, Law 3340/10-05-2005 and decision No 3/347/12-07-2005), to avoid for any potential misinformation towards the public.
