Corporate Social Responsibility - The Children''s Stage of the Rhodes Regional Theatre sets sail with Blue Star Ferries
As part of its corporate social responsibility series of activities, which Blue Star Ferries has been promoting, and actively pursuing in the last few years, the Group is sponsoring the Children''''s Stage of the Rhodes Regional Theatre.
The funds donated will be used for the staging of the "Prince and The Golden Box" by the Children"s Stage of the Rhodes Regional Theatre, a performance based on traditional Dodecanese fairytales.
The support of educational, cultural and recreational activities carried out by local communities is of priority to Blue Star Ferries especially when addressing children and youths.
The "Prince and The Golden Box" debuts on 21st March in Rhodes aiming at bringing children closer to the theatre and to culture through easy and innovative means.
Of particular interest is the element of novelty entailed in this project, as the play will travel as part of the "Theatre goes to school" programme of the theatre of Rhodes and will be staged at schools of other islands of the Dodecanese such as Patmos, Leros, Kalymnos and others.
To that end, Blue Star Ferries will be offering free transportation for the cast and crew of the play to the islands of the Dodecanese.
It should be noted that the actors of the play are originating from Rhodes while the play is directed by Panayotis Stathopoulos, Vassiliki Karidakis is responsible for set and costume design and George Economou is the artistic director.
This activity is part of a programme carried out by Blue Star Ferries on the islands which it serves continuing a long standing policy of maintaining a discrete presence in supporting social associations, charities, non-profit organizations, medical and scientific communities.
