Consolidated sales of HELLENIC DUTY FREE SHOPS S.A. reached Euro137.1 million in the first six months of 2007, compared to Euro109.9 million in the respective period of 2006, posting an increase of 24.8%. Consolidated EBITDA reached Euro27.2 million. Net earnings after taxes of the Group reached Euro17.4 million while earnings before taxes reached Euro23.2 million. Finally, consolidated net earnings per share reached Euro0.330.
Commenting on the financial results, the President of the Company's BoD, Mr. George Koutsolioutsos, mentioned that "We are satisfied by the Company's financial performance in the first half of 2007, which reaffirm our optimism for this year, despite the accession of Bulgaria and Romania in the EU that subsequently affected negatively the Duty Free sales as well as the absence of duty free fuel sales. Consolidated sales enjoyed a double digit growth reinforced mainly by the sales of the acquired LINKS and the increase of passenger traffic by 9.9%".
The subsidiary HELLENIC DISTRIBUTIONS S.A. maintained its growth trend. In particular, sales of HELLENIC DISTRIBUTIONS S.A. reached Euro37.0 million and EBITDA reached Euro3.0 million, while it should be noted that since the beginning of August its financial results include the financials of the acquired LINKS LONDON Ltd. The respective figures for LINKS are Euro25.1 million and Euro0.9 million for the first half of 2007.
Concluding, sales of the parent Company HDFS amounted to Euro102.0 million, while EBITDA reached Euro24.3 million and net earnings to Euro17.6 million.
