The Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank S.A. (the "Bank") announces that from Monday, September 17, 2007, its 67,548,758 ordinary registered shares of nominal value Euro 4.77 per share (the "New Shares") will commence trading on the Athens Exchange ("ATHEX"). The New Shares were issued through a share capital increase by cash contribution pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Directors of the Bank on July 6, 2007, authorized by the 2nd Reiterated Regular Shareholders Meeting of the Bank on May 3, 2007.
The ATHEX, on September 13, 2007, approved the listing of the 67,548,758 New Shares for trading on ATHEX. It is confirmed that the New Shares will be delivered on the day of commencement of trading in each shareholder's individual dematerialized securities account at the Dematerialised Securities System ("SAT").
