In response to press articles published today, September 18th, 2007 and referring to an upcoming agreement between Proton Bank and an Israeli Bank, PROTON BANK S.A. (hereafter 'PROTON') announces the following:
1. The contents of the aforementioned press articles are untrue and being refuted.
2. PROTON, once more, announces that within the strategic framework for its dynamic development, business expansion and reinforced presence in the sector, closely follows and studies all possibilities and forms of cooperation, which may substantially contribute to the materialization of this strategy through the appropriate business actions, which will add value to Proton and its shareholders.
Proton reiterates its commitment, which in any event is its obligation, to provide all relevant information to its shareholders in the event that there are further developments with respect to business cooperation with any domestic or international financial institution or investor.
