J&P-AVAX SA announces the Cyprus Port Authority signed on 19.12.2007 a contract in Cyprus with a consortium comprising J&P-AVAX SA (60%) and ATHENA SA (40%) for the project titled Limassol Port Dredging, budgeted at euros 12.6 million (7.36 million Cyprus Pounds). ATHENA SA is a subsidiary of J&P-AVAX SA.
The project involves dredging works in the Limassol port to deepen its containership and Ro-Ro ship piers as well as its western dock to -16 metres from -14 metres. It also includes deepening the ports entry channel and maneuver area to -17 metres from -15 metres, as well as protecting the existing infrastructure from the planned dredging works. The project carries a 7-month deadline.
Limassol Port is situated near Limassol Marina, which will be developed, operated and managed under a 53-year concession agreement, budgeted at euros 173.2 million. Both J&P-AVAX SA and ATHENA SA participate in the consortium declared preferred bidder for and expected shortly to sign the concession agreement for the Limassol Marina.
