Pursuant to a few press articles today with regard to the banning of a load of almond kernels imported for our company from U.S.A. due to the inappropriate for consumption content, CON. CARDASSILARIS & SONS S.A CARDICO wishes to inform the following:
Indeed in the harbour of Piraeus it was found, by the authorities of Piraeus Prefecture, a load unfit for consumption and it was consequently banned from being imported (since it contained dead insects). The said load would have never been approved and received by our company and would have not been further processed and distributed in the market as it is CARDICO's rigid policy to examine all merchandises before final reception at the customs authorities. In case of unfit merchandise, it is returned to the supplier who is the sole person responsible for these products.
It is a non negotiable condition for the normal flow of operations of our company, to ensure at any given time that quality assurance procedures are being followed regarding raw materials before entering the production process, which is made possible through the modern control systems installed in every stage of the production process.
