Alumil systems were exclusively chosen at the Foundation of the Hellenic World
Alumil Administration announces with content the completion of another project. In particular, during the second phase of the construction of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, ALUMIL systems were exclusively chosen through competition. Project?s constructor is the venture of "TERNA - PANTEHNIKI" groups.
The Foundation consists of a benchmark project, from architectural, mechanical and functional perspectives, given all innovations implemented in terms of design, energy saving and respect towards the environment. In particular, the project's architects covered the south side with colored (milky) glass-panes. The building's "skin" is hybrid, composed of two curtain walls with air to pass through the interval between them, controlled by automations, for optimizing external and internal energy saving standards.
The new certified system M50 Energy was chosen, to guarantee solutions for absolute noise and thermal insulation. For the roof windows, the thermal brake series M10800 Alutherm Skylight and shading system M5600 Shading were chosen. Alumil's clients who participated for the completion of this project were "PROALUMIN" (curtain walls, roof windows) and "VALE" (shading systems).
The connection between the existing building and the new one consisted of a special challenge: curtain walls were constructed with large dimension glass panes, in a negative slope. As a result, a suspension system able to lift the above mentioned loads was used. In close cooperation with the aluminium and glass contractor "PROALUMIN", Alumil developed innovative profile-column cross-sections capable of meeting the highest demands.
