Following international tender with the participation of Siemens, Alstom and - A-TEC (with Mitsubishi technology), the Consortium GE/METKA was announced best bidder and, after 2 months negotiations, signed today the relevant contract with following data:
1. Owner of the project : Petrom S.A.
Petrom S.A. is the largest oil and gas group in SE Europe and belongs by 51% to the multinational giant OMV.
2. EPC Contractor of the project: Consortium GE/METKA
3. Basic technical characteristics: Output greater than 860MW and efficiency greater than 57% with Natural Gas
4. Commercial Operation: Planned 2nd Half 2011
After signing of this contract the METKA backlog is increased by euro 210 mio reaching the overall level of euro 826 mio.
This success of METKA is compatible with the METKA strategy to pursuit balanced development of its business between the traditional home and the international market.
