J&P-AVAX SA announces it signed on 11.01.2008 with the Republic of Cyprus the contract for the project titled Design & Construction towards the restoration of the community of Artemida in Peloponnese, valued at euro 8.68 million.
Several villages in the Peloponnese region sustained extensive damage from the forest fires in August 2007. Among the hardest hit was the small village of Artemida, the reconstruction of which the Republic of Cyprus decided to finance as part of an aid package towards the fire-stricken areas agreed with Greece.
The project involves rebuilding 23 houses, minor repairs in 17 houses and 2 community buildings, extensive repairs in 7 houses, one olive press, 29 warehouses, the village square, the Civic Cultural Centre, as well as aesthetic works on the entire village.
The project carries a 16-month deadline.
