Euro 11.2 million contract for the e Urban-Planning service awarded to a consortium of INTRACOM IT Services and SingularLogic Integrator
Athens, Greece 24 July 2008 - INTRACOM IT Services, the leading provider of IT services in Greece, in consortium with SingularLogic Integrator, has signed a contract with the Information Society S.A. for the implementation of the project "e_Urban-Planning: Geographic Information Systems for the Self-government Prefectures of Greece". The total budget of this 14 month project amounts to euro 11.214.770 (including VAT), while INTRACOM IT Services participates with 45%.
The purpose of the project is to provide to the city-planners, citizens, and professional engineers quick and reliable up-to-date information regarding urban-planning geographic data, and the entire legislative context for all the prefectures and municipalities of the country. At the same time, the project aims to make the operation of the service more efficient, by providing immediate information regarding specific regulatory and zoning permissions and restrictions at the local level. More specifically, the project includes the creation of digital background maps at city and town level and spatial reference of all legislative and regulatory information, combining them into an integrated geo-database, the provision and installation of the necessary software and hardware, the development of the Geographic Information System for the administration of urban-planning building terms and the provision of urban-planning information, as well as the provision of maintenance and technical support services.
The project for the e_Urban-Planning further enhances INTRACOM IT Services' activity in large IT projects for the modernization of the public administration. The implementation of the project will improve the efficiency of the internal procedures and the operation of the prefectorial urban-planning services, thus significantly upgrading the quality of the services provided to the citizens.
