Official visit of the Russian Delegation at Lavipharm.
On Tuesday, November 11th H.E. the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Russia Mr. Victor Khristenko and H.E. the Minister for Development of Greece Mr. Christos Folias visited the facilities of Lavipharm at Peania. The visit took place in the context of the enhancement of the bilateral relations between the two countries aiming towards the cooperation among Greek and Russian companies in the research and production of pharmaceutical products. The two Ministers were accompanied by a Greek and Russian delegation.
Lavipharm, distinguished in Europe as one of the few pharmaceutical industries in our country that invests on Research and Development*, operating high end manufacturing facilities that meet the production needs of many international pharmaceutical companies, drew the interest of the Russian delegation.
The Greek Minister for Development Mr. Christos Folias underlined the potential for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly in the exchange of expertise and the establishment of joint ventures in the area of research and production of pharmaceutical products.
The Russian Minister of Industry and Commerce Mr. Khristenkο, showing interest in the width of Lavipharm's activities in the area of pharmaceuticals, referred to the development strategy of the Russian government in the sector until 2020, focusing on the enhancement of international cooperation in the areas of development and production of pharmaceutical products, but also in biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology.
The two Ministers and the delegates of the two countries were guided through Lavipharm's production and packaging facilities, where the area dedicated to the production of transdermal drug delivery systems drew everyone?s attention. Lavipharm is the only company in Greece that operated in this sector and one of the few in Europe.
