A 3% water tariff raise will be effective from October 1st, 2008 following the concession agreement signed between the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. G. Alogoskoufis and the Minister for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, Mr. G. Souflias.
It is noted that the current tariff increase rate is lower than the rate of inflation for the last 20month period that intervened from the previous tariff review, which has taken effect at the 1st of February, 2007, at lower rate than the inflation.
According to the same concession agreement, both the sewerage tariff rate is reviewed at the 70% of the value of water consumed, and effective from 1.3.2009 the sewerage tariff rate is reviewed to 75%.
