MR. PIERRE DELEPLANQUE new managing director in HERACLES GENERAL CEMENT COMPANY

The HERACLES G.C.Co Board of Directors in its meeting today accepted the resignation of Mr. Saad Sebbar from the position of Managing Director, as from 1st October 2008, because of his forthcoming appointment as LAFARGE Regional President East Asia Cement. Mr. Saad Sebbar remains non executive member of the Board of Directors, pursuant to the provisions of law 3016/2002, as amended by the provisions of law 3091/2002, since he fulfils the conditions of articles 3 and 4 of law 3016/2002 as amended and be in force.
Following that, the Board of Directors appointed Mr. Pierre Deleplanque, as Managing Director, as from 1st October 2008, and entrusted to him all its rights, according to article 22 of the Company's Articles of Association.
Mr. Pierre Deleplanque, 43 years old, has 19 years of experience in LAFARGE. He was the Project Manager for the Orascom integration. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of LAFARGE'S subsidiary in Ecuador and has held in the past management positions as Chief Financial Officer of the Group's companies in Venezuela and Philippines. He is a member of the Board of Directors of HERACLES G.C.Co since August 2008.
